A Busy Day

It's been pretty hot here this week, near or over 100 degrees most days. One of the things we do to keep the hogs cooled off is to spray them with the "water cannon." I thought it was pretty funny to watch their noses rise and fall with the water stream passing by -- they enjoy the visits and come running when they hear the tractor pulling up.
Those are water droplets ... I guess you had to be there to get the full effect of their shower.

Today while Kelli was at home doing what needed to be done while the new windows were being installed, Nicholas spent most of the day out here with me. He had a pretty good day of it including a leisurely lunch
Yes, that is his foot.
A bit later he managed to shove off with his other foot against the beam on the table and tipped the chair, himself still strapped into it, right back over onto the floor. From now on he will sit on the END of the table so there is no beam for his foot to reach. Other than the shock of the unexpected ride, he was just fine. What a boy.

After a nap we spent time outside with Omar and Boris, who were very gentle and tolerant of the new kid on my lap and toddling around in the grass, and he didn't seem afraid of them at all --

We also did a little weed-pulling, which he was quite good at --
After Kelli was done at home she came to pick him up and it was decided that going out to eat was preferable to cooking tonight, so we all went out to El Rodeo after chores were done. Nicholas barely made it through -- he was getting pretty tired and ready for bed by 8:30. He had a full day but seemed to really enjoy the variety.
