Happy Valentine's Day

We celebrated the holiday by going to a hockey game, which is a pretty good celebration for us. When I checked the schedule, the TriCity American's game for tonight was an away game, but for last night it was at home against Edmonton Oil Kings. Kit was still here (to take care of early morning hog sales), so we went down for the game and stayed overnight at the Shilo Inn, using one of our Habitat for Humanity free nights. It was also Pink Ice Night, for breast cancer awareness, which I thought also fit in nicely with Valentine's Day somehow and sounded fun. The ice was pretty pink alright. You could really tell where the Zambonis had gone over, since the water made the pink come out again (taking all the slushy stuff off). A decent little mini-vacation; we had a good time even if the Edmonton team came out ahead in the end.
Tonight we will be heading to Don and Triscia's for cards. Sort of like us, they tend to 'celebrate' these holidays in their own way. An evening munching junk food with friends over a game of pinochle is more fun than fighting the crowds at the restaurants ... right? Besides, I got restaurant last night and breakfast buffet this morning.
:o)

  1. I like the pink ice. I think Mary Kay should take us all to a pink ice event...

I missed cards? Oh, well. Probably would have been difficult with 2 kids and only 1 me.

    See you soon.
