Baby Stuff

Last Saturday I went to a baby shower in Aloha, OR, for Marianne R. who is married to our godson, Kevin. As I was told yesterday "You know you are getting old when your godchildren are having children." (thanks, LeAnn). When I got the invitation, and because they know she is a baby girl, I asked if they thought it would be a good thing if I made a baptismal gown for her, and they were happy about that. So they knew about the gift before I got there. It turned out nicely, as they all seem to -- those little white dresses are fun to make and I think this was #5 or 6, between nieces and granddaughters, and now grandgoddaughter (is that right?), and so far they have all been different. There is one more to do for Addison, but hers might be similar to one I've done already... I seem to be out of original ideas. I haven't taken photos of all of them, but I did snap this one for Miss Candence, due to arrive on Nov. 18 or so.

I had a good visit driving both ways with Keith & Marilyn, and a nice stay with my parents since I had an extra day (for a change) while I was there. Didn't see the point to driving my van down too when they were going the same way and had to drive two cars home (they bought her mom's car). On Friday Mom and I went to see Tanya and the new addition to the family, Addison Sophia.

Since it was Friday, Hunter was at kindergarten, but Avery was home. She was in a bit of bad sorts with a cold, so she frowned her way through most of the visit, which surprised Mom somewhat, I think. She is used to seeing a little happy face. Maybe Avery is already bored with watching her mom do the baby thing and is ready to go back to Gramma and Grampa's where there is a computer to do games on, a dog to play with, a garden to pick things from, etc. Or maybe it was just the cold, and me, someone she wasn't used to, being at her house. Tanya is able to be home through mid-January and then Addison will also get to join Avery at Gramma's house.
Her hair is pretty wavy, even at just a month old. She doesn't seem to look like either Hunter or Avery right now, but she resembles one of Hunter's early photos on the shelf a little bit.

On Saturday morning before I left for the shower, we went down to the Farmer's Market where I bought three of the biggest acorn squash I have ever seen for just $1 each. We are still eating on those, and they aren't even tough and stringy!
