Keeping Busy

When Nicholas was here last Thursday he spent the morning helping me in the house. He is especially good at unloading the dishwasher, and will entertain himself for about 10 minutes if he has some things to reload.
He also tried out sweeping the kitchen floor. After a while he indicated that he thought it was probably time to go outside. We go out to get the mail by 4-wheeler. He likes to pretend he's a big, bad biker. He does like to ride along with anyone who will take him for a real ride. Note the tongue -- that's Hesse for "I'm concentrating here."

When we got back to the house, he ran all around the back yard, around the house, over to see the pigs, and back to the yard again (falling and getting back up several times and with me following). Then he found the holes over by the hammock from when we removed two trees last month and decided he might try to fill the holes in with the spare dirt, one handful at a time. (Has Kelli mentioned he likes dirt??!!) What a boy.
