Yes, I realize it is January and a little too cold in Eastern Washington to be flying kites ... and they might even get lost in the fog here ... but we spent some time in Kirkland this weekend and I came home with that song in my head (from Mary Poppins). Danelle loves to sing all of her songs whether anyone is listening or not. Songs from Mary Poppins, the Sound of Music, Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang, and all the little Sunday School songs we learned as kids seem to constantly be swirling around in her head and occasionally one just pops out! She doesn't always have all the words right but she makes due and you can definitely recognize the tunes. She also isn't shy about her volume :o)
We planned to use the last set of hockey tickets that Lou bought in November at the Habitat for Humanity auction on Saturday night in Seattle for the Saturday night game at Everett, but -- when checking where the Everett team plays I noticed they had already posted the results of the Seattle-Everett game ... Nuts! Seems they played it on Friday (and that is what was printed on our tickets!) and I had it wrong in my head. I was sure the last one was Jan. 17th and thought I should have remembered if it was January 16th since it was Jason and Rachel's anniversary that day, but I messed up. So since we had planned to go over there, we went anyway, just to visit. As it turns out, Seattle was playing Tri-Cities in the new arena in Kent on Sunday at 5 PM so we went to that. Had to pay admission, of course, but got home last night before midnight. And we had more time to visit Danelle and Thea, and Dayna and Shane of course. Was a nice day over there with blue sky and no clouds so we did a little jaunt to the park before leaving too. I did not have my camera along, alas, so no new pics, but watch on Shane's blog because they did take a few.
As I said, two years ago Friday Jason and Rachel were married in Tacoma on a snowy snowy winter's day. We barely made it over there but we did, and it is certainly a day we won't forget. Plans are in the works for the public ceremony to finally take place this May 16th in Moses Lake... stay tuned. And Happy Anniversary you two!
Don't Miss Out!

If she fits her dress...
ReplyDeleteShe thinks she will, with the lace-up in the back ... I am not so sure, but we'll see how it goes.
