Snow: Day 1

Makes me want to stay home and make fudge...Sadly, I am missing a key ingredient ... so maybe tomorrow.
I do want to get the tree inside today -- silly me, bought it soon enough but left it outside (other stuff kept me busy) until it got snowed on. So far it's on the front step in the stand ... so I'm making my usual slow progress...

In spite of the snow, since Lou bought the hockey ticket package at the Habitat for Humanity auction last month again, we still plan to head down to TriCities for the TC Americans' game tonight. Hope and pray for no or very little additional snow ... and that the crazies stay out of our way ... and there is no fog for the drive home. I hate driving in fog and it's going to be a very late night as it is. Should be a good game though, vs. Vancouver. Worst weather is supposed to be east of Ritzville and north of I-90, so Kennewick is maybe out of the way of that just a little bit, and should be a better drive than if the game was in Spokane. At least we don't have ice storm happening like the Northeast does right now.
[EDIT: we didn't go to the hockey game after all ... the wind started to blow pretty briskly and it just looked too ugly to be on the roads for very long with drifting snow happening, etc. and possible freezing rain predicted for further south.]

Ben and Kelli and Nicholas are at Dayna and Shane's house for the weekend to attend the wedding of Kelli's cousin today. I am sure it is a FULL house with 4 adults and three little kids, all the shoes, toys, books ... yeah, it's a full house. Hoping their 4WD helps them get back home again in spite of falling temps and more snow predicted for the next few days around here. "Arctic air mass" -- not my favorite phrase. But if one can stay one and sip cocoa, it's pretty to look at.
