Wow, has it been two weeks since I posted here? Not good ...
I had root canal part II last week, and now I need to have the crown put on that tooth. Apparently after a root canal, teeth are prone to drying and cracking, and crowns are fairly routine for them they told me. So three appointments for one tooth. They told me I could wait 2-4 weeks for that if need be, so I thought I'd wait until about Dec. 10. Then today I noticed a rough spot on the back of my back tooth where they had filled a cavity last month. It really feels like the filling material has fallen out when I rub my tongue back there. It doesn't hurt and I don't remember anything "crunchy" while eating yesterday, but it's definitely different from a couple days ago. So no luck with these teeth lately... so, I may need to go in pretty soon for that problem. I would rather wait until Nicholas goes back home, we'll see.
The past week was filled with emotional news. Mom's friend's lung cancer took her faster than anyone really thought possible; Kelli's gramma died, her last living grandparent; and our 86 year old neighbor was hauled off in an ambulance that same morning. Not sure exactly what happened with him, but at his age it could have been several things. It may be a long winter for the old cowboy. And then, as if to help us realize that life goes on, three babies were born last week: our godson's wife had a little girl, our friends' son & wife had a big boy, and one of Kelli's friends had their second baby boy.
We had a guest pastor from North Dakota come to preach for us at church last Sunday. Lou asked her about it when he was back there in October for a conference and she decided a free train ride wouldn't be a bad thing. We drove up to Dry Falls one afternoon, and to Leavenworth for lunch on Monday before her return trip home. A good weekend. We found out one other pastor from ND will be visiting with his wife in January -- her sister lives in Richland -- and has agreed to preach for us on January 11. He was always my "first choice" for our church to call as pastor if he would ever leave ND, which is unlikely, so I will enjoy this visit while I can.
Ben and Kelli left for Seattle today, and will fly to Hawaii tomorrow morning for a week's vacation. They were ready for this vacation. Nicholas is staying with us, so although I will have plenty of adventures this week (there is a reason we have our children when we are young) I am not sure I will have time to blog about them ... we'll see how it goes. For now, he is asleep and I ought to go to bed too, in case it doesn't last.
Happy Thanksgiving to all --
Don't Miss Out!

Well make sure you take pictures of all your adventures with Nicholas... that way you can blog about them after he goes home!
