Happy Thanksgiving!

We returned from our overseas trip just in time for the holiday season to begin ... I will try to get some photos and commentary up soon. Last 10 days have been spent trying to catch up on mail, bill paying, and the usual stuff one misses when on vacation.

The Thanksgiving gathering for most of the Hesse tribe took place at Ben and Kelli's house this year. Kelli's new bigger kitchen/dining room and a place for kids to play were a definite asset. All the likely suspects were present (we missed you, Rachel & Jason & Ruston!) and a fine meal was had by all. Here are a few photos I shot.
Kelli's first turkey effort -- perfectly browned by the convection oven and nicely done in 2.5 hours. (That foil in the pan next to it did something odd with the flash reflection -- it's not on fire!)

Dayna carved the bird.
Our grandchildren coloring together.
They weren't this quiet most of the day... er, most of the weekend. Nobody thought to grab a camera and shoot some video with sound when they were squealing with delight so that you could get the "real feel" of the holiday! That would have been a nice addition here.
Suffice it to say that they were all very excited to see each other again and had good times playing and keeping busy.
